FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School girls soccer team captured a Bi-District Championship title on Thursday night with their 2-0 win over Woodrow Wilson High School in the first round of the playoffs.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School girls soccer team captured a Bi-District Championship title on Thursday night with their 2-0 win over Woodrow Wilson High School in the first round of the playoffs.
The girls traveled to Forester Field in Dallas, Texas, for their matchup against Woodrow Wilson at 6 p.m.
Forney’s Kayley Whitworth scored the first goal of the game just before halftime giving the lady Jackrabbits a 1-0 lead going into the half. With 18 minutes remaining in the game, Forney’s Kayleigh Phillips scored a second goal for the lady Jackrabbits and sealed the teams 2-0 victory.
Forney will now move to the area-round of the playoffs in a matchup against the winner of a Friday game between Frisco High School and Prosper High School.
The Forney High School boys team lost their bi-district championship matchup against Bryan Adams, 2-1.
