It was an upsetting night for the Forney High School Jackrabbits at City Bank Stadium on Friday, September 8, 2011, against the Lovejoy Leopards. The game started promptly at 7:30 and the expected cold front made for great football weather.

The Leopards won the toss and elected to kick the ball to begin the first quarter. The Jackrabbits started their first drive of the game with #9, Clayton Chadwick, as quarterback. Forney's Coach Rush has the advantage of using two different quarterbacks and sometimes fielding both at the same time; #9 Clayton Chadwick and #8 Jack King. The Leopards put up 9 points in the first quarter and were uncontested by the Forney Jackrabbits.

The second quarter was dominated again by the Leopards. The Jackrabbits rallied late in the quarter and seemed poised to put some points on the board but fell short. The Leopards put an additional 14 points on the board to make the score going into half time at Forney 0, Lovejoy 23.

The game was getting very physical in the third quarter with each team receiving personal foul calls on a dead ball. Lovejoy scored a touchdown with 5:48 left on the clock and the extra point was blocked. There was a flag on the play and Forney was called offsides. The Leopards attempted the extra point again and were once again blocked but another flag was thrown, the personal foul call for Forney. This time, instead of an extra point attempt, the Leopards set up for a two point conversion that was successful. With 1:35 left in the third quarter the Forney Jackrabbits attempted a field goal by #6, Clay Collins, that was successful. The third quarter ended with the score set at Forney 3, Lovejoy 38.

The Forney Jackrabbits were determined to narrow the margin in the fourth quarter. On a pass from Jack King, #3 Lane Johnson made an amazing touchdown catch that bobbled out of the hands of another teammate and two opponents. Quarterback Jack King made another touchdown pass to Jacob Norris late in the fourth quarter and ended the game with Forney 16, and Lovejoy 38.

Jack King completed 22 of his attempted 43 passes with 285 total yards and 2 touchdown passes. Clayton Chadwick completed 2 of 6 with 27 yards, he also received 5 catches for 74 yards. Jacob Norris caught 7 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Lane Johnson caught 8 for 127 yards and a touchdown.
