FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School and North Forney High School cross country runners competed in the University Interscholastic League State Meet on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas.
FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School and North Forney High School cross country runners competed in the University Interscholastic League State Meet on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas.
Forney High School junior Lauryn Barrientos captured third place and the bronze medal in the Girls Class 5A competition with a time of 18:44.43. North Forney High School senior Kyle Garcia captured fifth place in the Boys Class 5A competition with a time of 15:55.67.
Also competing for Forney, and their results, were: Junior Caylon McMillan, 21st, 19:39.10; Freshman Caroline Crispin, 117th, 21:27.65; Junior Megan Garza, 125th, 21:39.27; Junior Kaley Wagle, 132nd, 22:02.27; Junior Melissa Bernal, 136th, 22:15.83; and Junior Analynn Gabler, 145th, 22:47.43.
The Forney High School girls team also qualified as a team and finished the state meet with a top five time of 1:43:32.72 which landed them in 11th place for the state meet.
Forney High School runner Brock Collins, a senior, ran for the boys team and finished in 57th place with a time of 16:56.35.
