FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District, Coach Abshire) — Entering the 2015 football season, the Forney Jackrabbits look to build on the momentum ignited by last year’s 6-4 campaign. With a strong nucleus of returning players combined with a promising crop of developing young talent, the hopes for the season are extremely high.
Offensively the Rabbits return quarterback Luke Skipper who earned a first team all-district selection and will begin his third year directing the offense.
This year Skipper will be surrounded by a mix of veteran receivers such as Cody Cook, and Malik Woods, and several young players hungry to prove themselves on the varsity stage.
The Jackrabbit Defense will look to Zadarius Miles and Brandon Ruiz for leadership in the secondary as a young but talented group develops. Linebackers Cory Sandlin, R.J. Hedges, and Sam Coltharp will serve as anchors giving the defensive line time to mature.
Once again Forney will compete in District 12-5A consisting of Mesquite Poteet, Rockwall Heath, Terrell, Royse City, South Garland, West Mesquite, and North Forney
