The Pride Football Club out of Forney already has a National Championship under their belts, and now they can boast that one of their players was chosen to play in the Junior Rank Academic All-American game that took place January 4, 2013 in Carson, California.
The Pride Football Club out of Forney already has a National Championship under their belts, and now they can boast that one of their players was chosen to play in the Junior Rank Academic All-American game that took place January 4, 2013 in Carson, California.
Cameron Harris is a member of the Pride Football Club's 12U team and he is a seventh grader at Forney's Warren Middle School. He was picked by the games selection committee, which had to sift through 3000 seventh and eighth grade nominees choose pick the top 115 players to play in the game. Harris was the leading tackler for the Pride this season and had a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The All-American game took place at the Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. Harris was chosen to play outside linebacker for the East team in the East vs. West game. The talented young player contributed greatly to the East teams 21-0 shutout victory over the squad from the West team. Pride defensive coach Jody Peterman said, “Our leading tackler represented the Pride, Forney, and the state of Texas as we would expect, with seven solo tackles and seven tackling assists in the big game.”
