The Shamrock Basketball Association (SBA) started in 2003 as a driveway basketball league in the Shamrock Ridge subdivision in Forney between high school friends. A final commemorative driveway game will signify the end of the driveway league and the beginning of the nationally recognized league it has become today.

Ryan Girardot and a group of friends started SBA in his parents driveway when Ryan was only 13. Ryan is now 21, graduated Forney High School in 2009, and attends Blinn College in College Station, Texas where he is majoring in Sports Management. Ryan has also since founded Players Revolution Sports. Players Revolution partners with leagues across the country to provide players with national competitions, games, all star teams, and many other opportunities for players and teams.

Shamrock Basketball Association is now a nationally recognized basketball league with games played in community and sports centers all across the United States. Ryan stated, β€œThe final commemorative driveway game will be played between two teams from the original 2003 season, Forney Flight and Who's Next. The game will also be played in the same driveway where SBA started.” The game will be played at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night, May 19, 2012 at 10519 East Clover Ln, Forney, Texas. Spectators are welcome to attend and bring friends and family.

Food and drinks will be provided and a donation bucket will be on the table. All donations from food and drinks will go to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. Ryan's grandmother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and he would like to draw more attention to and to help raise funds to help the association accelerate progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure.
