FORNEY, Texas β A fourth quarter field goal sealed a 12-10 District 15-5A victory for the Forney High School Jackrabbits (3-2, 1-1) over the Royse City High School Bulldogs (2-3, 0-2) on Friday night.
The Jackrabbits began the scoring with just 35 seconds remaining in the first quarter with quarterback Devon Rideaux connecting with Oklahoma State commit Brendan Vaughn for an 88-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt failed.
In the second quarter, Royse Cityβs Mario Mares completed a 42-yard field goal to take the Jackrabbits into halftime with a 6-3 lead.
A Johnny Solis 10-yard dash in the third quarter put the Bulldogs in the lead, 10-6.
Jackrabbits Huffman Matthew completed a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter to make the scoring a one-point game. Matthew completed a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to seal the Jackrabbits 12-10 victory.
Forney High School will have a bye week next week and will return Thursday night, October 6, 2016, at City Bank Stadium against Lovejoy (1-3, 0-1).
