KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Lions are preparing for an area-round matchup against Midlothian Heritage after a 20-14 win over Liberty Eylau last Friday in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
The Lions took a 13-0 lead in the first quarter before trading touchdowns in the second quarter and moving into halftime with a 20-7 lead. The Liberty Eylau Leopards would go on to score with less than a minute remaining in the game but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lions lead.
The 20-14 victory for the Lions advance them to the area-round playoffs against Midlothian Heritage on Friday, November 18, 2016, in Ennis, Texas, at 7:30 p.m.
The Lions rival, Terrell, also advanced to the area-round playoffs with a 42-13 win over North Lamar and will face Kennedale this Friday. If both teams secure an area-round win, they will face-off in the third round of the playoffs.
