FORNEY, Texas — The North Forney High School girls basketball team volunteered at the 2015 MDA Muscle Walk of Dallas/Fort Worth on Saturday, September 26, 2015 — for the second year in a row.
The event was held on Saturday at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, and raised approximately $380,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association which is a non-profit organization dedicated to “sponsoring research seeking the causes of and effective treatments for neuromuscular diseases,” according to their website.
“We enjoyed our opportunity to give back and help in the fight against muscle disease,” Coach Samantha Hanie stated on the district’s website. The team volunteered to lead the carnival games in the “Kids Zone” at the all-day event.
The girls season starts October 21, 2015.
