FORNEY, Texas — The North Forney High School softball team swept their best-of-three game series against The Colony to become back-to-back Area Champions on Saturday.
The Lady Falcons will now advance to the Regional Quarterfinals to face-off against fellow District 12-5A opponent Rockwall-Heath High School.
Game 1 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Plano East High School at 7 p.m., game 2 is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2015, at Plano East High School at 7 p.m., and, if necessary, game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at noon at Plano East High School.
The Lady Falcons advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals after sweeping The Colony in two games of a best-of-three series 8-5 and 3-1.
“The Lady Falcons weathered much adversity this weekend between game reschedules, STAAR testing, lightning delays, late nights and early mornings,” stated Assistant Head Coach Brittany Lee on the district’s website. “In their resilient fashion, the Lady Falcons battled through all adversity, remained mentally tough and beat The Colony in 2 games to retain the back-to-back Area Championship Title!”
