Texas Triple Crown is a new baseball and softball academy that will be located at 11815 S. Profit Row and will be a place where budding and experienced players can come to hone their skills, stay fit and sharp, and work with professional trainers to reach their full potential.
Texas Triple Crown is the brainchild of Eric Whicker, who has dreamed of opening a baseball academy for fifteen years. Youth sports have been incredibly important to Mr. Whicker, a perfect forum for many amazing experiences. In establishing the academy, he hopes to create a positive environment in an indoor facility, one in which young athletes can have similarly-fulfilling experiences. “I truly believe that many of life’s lessons are learned on the baseball diamond,” he said, “and I wanted to create an environment conducive to learning and growing, as players and as people.”
The facility will house one of the only indoor infields in Texas and will feature real grass turf. Texas Triple Crown will offer individual and team memberships. The batting cages will feature state-of-the-art Iron Mike pitching machines. The facilities will also be available for infield practice rentals, birthday parties, baseball camps, and much more. There will also be three pitching machines in the cages setup for pitching softballs and two cages for live pitching.
Members of the Texas Triple Crown Baseball Academy will have the opportunity to work closely with big league ball players, who will teach lessons, hold camps, and serve as mentors and examples. There will be a few surprises in store as well, including swing analysis and a 20-foot High Definition screen, on which members can watch games and more.
