FORNEY, Texas — Over 500 total yards and 7 forced turnovers propelled District 15-5A’s second-ranked Poteet High School Pirates (4-2, 3-0) over the North Forney High School Falcons (3-3, 0-3) on Friday night during their homecoming.
FORNEY, Texas — Over 500 total yards and 7 forced turnovers propelled District 15-5A’s second-ranked Poteet High School Pirates (4-2, 3-0) over the North Forney High School Falcons (3-3, 0-3) on Friday night during their homecoming.
North Forney High School scored on a lone 30-yard field goal by Nathaniel Diaz in the third quarter.
Both teams remained scoreless in the first quarter but Poteet went on to score two touchdowns each in the remaining quarters.
The Falcons accumulated 211 total offensive yards with 114 receiving and 97 rushing.
Quarterback Colby Suits threw for 114 yards on 11 completions. Calvin Ribera led the rushing with 42 yards on 6 carries followed by David Flores and Jordan Carroll with 26 yards on 9 carries and 21 yards on 3 carries, respectively. Jackson Ennels caught 6 passes for 87 yards.
Sophomore Daylon Horton led the team in tackles with 10 total tackles, 7 solo and 3 assisted. Willie Thomas completed 8 total tackles with 3 solo and Devin Beamon assisted in 7 tackles of his 8 total.
The Falcons will next play Royse City (2-4, 0-3) away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.
