The Falcons won the toss and elected to kick the opening kickoff and start the game with their defense. After the Falcons defense forced the punt they made their way to the other end of the field prepping for the touchdown. QB Hunter Herndon scrambled in the pocket and shot the ball to Quaid Jones for the touchdown. The Falcons set up in a swinging gate formation for a two-point conversion that was successful.
The Falcons attempted the onside kick but were called offsides. The Tigers next drive drove the ball near the end zone where a touchdown call was reversed because of a Tiger penalty. The first quarter ended with The Falcons in the lead, 8-0.
The second quarter was uneventful with neither team putting points on the board. The third quarter livened up in the eighth minute when the Falcons scored another passing touchdown from Herndon to Lapone Finley. Another swinging gate formation and two-point conversion was successful, bringing the score to 16-0, Falcons.
Back-to-back fumbles from Terrell lead the Falcon's Armani Watts to run the ball in for another touchdown. The point after was good and the Falcons were leading 23-0. The Tigers offensive line was loosing steam and the Falcons defense punished the quarterback over and over.
The fourth quarter's action began with a Falcon's field goal for another three points. The Tigers gain some momentum after a punt fake lead to a first down. The Tigers completed their drive by putting their first three points on the board on a successful field goal attempt.
Both teams took turns scoring on each other in a matter of minutes. The Tigers attempted an onside kick that didn't pass the required 10 yards so the Falcons started their drive with a great field position. Forney's Damien Palmer ran the ball right up the gut from midfield to score a rushing touchdown. The Tigers answered with their own passing touchdown. The score was now 33-10 in the Falcons favor.
The last touchdown was an explosive run by Armani Watts of Forney. Watts cut outside and broke three tackles, lost his shoe, and ran 40+ yards for a final Falcon touchdown.
The Falcons won their District 10-4A debut game against the Terrell Tigers, 40-10. The North Forney Falcons will play Thursday, October 4, at City Bank Stadium in Forney against the Highland Park Scots.
