FORNEY, Texas — North Forney’s Hunter Herndon decommitted from Rice University Thursday morning after receiving an offer from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Wednesday morning.
FORNEY, Texas — North Forney’s Hunter Herndon decommitted from Rice University Thursday morning after receiving an offer from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Wednesday morning.
6-foot-4, 236-pound Herndon, a three-star Scout recruit, announced on Twitter he would be making a decision on February 3, 2015 — the day before National Signing Day. However, today at 4:23 p.m., Herndon tweeted he had verbally committed to SMU.
According to 24/7 Sports, Herndon committed to Rice in mid-March and has since received offers from New Mexico, Oklahoma, and SMU. Herndon has been in contact with Texas although an offer hasn’t been presented as of today.
