North Forney volleyball overcomes first set loss to defeat Newman Smith, 4-1

GARLAND, Texas β€” The North Forney High School volleyball overcame a first set loss to defeat District 5A bi-district opponent Newman Smith in four sets, 4-1, and made school history by becoming the first North Forney volleyball team to obtain a bi-district championship title.

GARLAND, Texas β€” The North Forney High School volleyball overcame a first set loss to defeat District 5A bi-district opponent Newman Smith in four sets, 4-1, and made school history by becoming the first North Forney volleyball team to obtain a bi-district championship title.

The game, played at Garland’s Namaan Forest High School on Tuesday night, November 4, 2014, was won in four sets with North Forney losing the first 25-19, and winning the next three straight 26-24, 25-18, and 25-18.

With the win, the Lady Falcons advance to the area-round playoffs and will play Prosper High School on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at Newman Smith High School which is located at 2335 North Josey Lane in Carrollton, Texas.

Prosper swept their bi-district opponent, Frisco Liberty, in three sets: 25-15; 25-16; and 25-17.
