FORNEY, Texas – The Texas A&M University Aggies released their depth chart earlier today for Week 1 against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
North Forney High School alumni Armani Watts, a true freshman at 5'11” and 190 pounds, is listed to start as free safety for the Aggies. 18-year-old Watts has been practicing with the first team during camp and is starting over a senior.
“Armani Watts has really gotten better this camp,” stated Aggies Head Coach Kevin Sumlin at a weekly press conference this morning. “He took steps day by day to take advantage of opportunity.”
The Aggies will travel to Columbia, South Carolina, for the mathcup against the South Carolina Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium at 5 p.m. CT.
