FORNEY, Texas — The North Forney High School Lady Falcons are on a historic run in the playoffs — advancing to a regional semi-final playoff game against Highland Park this Friday.

The Falcons had already surpassed the campus record for deepest run in the playoffs when they defeated Royse City in the regional quarterfinals last week in a back-and-forth competition decided by penalty kicks. The Falcons had tied the game 2-2 before winning 4-3 with successful penalty kicks by Alexa Hernandez, Chelsea Harrington, Shannon Boyle, and Valerie Rodriguez and an impressive save by goalkeeper Elizabeth Lewis.

With the win against Royse City, North Forney High School Ladys Soccer Head Coach Ashley Falloure says the team has also set a District 5A soccer record for deepest playoff run.

The Lady Falcons, 17-2-6, will faceoff against Highland Park, 22-1-3, in the regional semi-finals on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Carrollton's Stanbridge Stadium located at 1330 Valwood Parkway.

The Highland Park Lady Scots are coming off the heals of a 2-1 victory over the defending 2018 State Champions, Frisco Wakeland, for their 8th consecutive regional playoff appearance.

A send-off is scheduled for 7 a.m. at North Forney High School.
