FORNEY, Texas – North Forney High School's Armani Watts continues to impress in his second appearance as a Texas A&M Aggie. The 9th-ranked Aggies (2-0), up from 21 last week, defeated Lamar at Kyle Field in front of 104,728 people – a new record for largest crowd at a college football game in Texas.

Last week, 18-year-old Watts, a true freshman, snatched an interception in his debut college football appearance against then-9th-ranked South Carolina, completed two tackles, and broke up a potential touchdown pass.

“Watts showed up again tonight. He likes to play,” stated Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin in a post game press conference. “Speedy had a really, really good game. He made some electric plays tonight. As you can see, he's explosive.”

Watts completed a total of 6 tackles, 5 solo, one for a loss of 2 yards, and one pass breakup – second to sophomore defensive end Daeshon Hall who completed 7 tackles and 1 sack.

The Aggies will next play Rice on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.
