Tennis: FHS team looking to finish strong with bi-district in their sights

The Forney High School Tennis team is looking to finish their district matchups strong in order to qualify to compete in the bi-district playoffs beginning on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

The Forney High School Tennis team is looking to finish their district matchups strong in order to qualify to compete in the bi-district playoffs beginning on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

According to FHS Tennis Head Coach Jon Bailey, the team currently sits on 3 wins and 3 losses. The wins are against last year's regional qualifier Mesquite Poteet, Greenville, and the up-and-coming Terrell Tigers.

β€œThe team is currently in third place in the district and is looking to finish strong so that they can compete in the bi-district playoffs,” said Coach Bailey.

Coach Bailey recognized the senior leaders on the team including Jacob Phelps, Bryce Townsend, Dylan Lewis, Jordan Watson, Tristan Megargee, Angel Girod, and Meagen Epley.

The FHS JV Tennis team will compete in the JV District Tournament on October 10, 2013. Currently, the JV team is seeded first after wins against Carrollton Creekview, Terrell, and Greenville. The JV District Tournament will be hosted by Forney High School and North Forney High School.
