Terrell and Forney climb into the DMN Top 20 Class 5A rankings

FORNEY, Texas — Terrell High School (4-1, 2-0) and Forney High School (5-0, 2-0) continue to climb the Dallas Morning News’ Class 5A rankings for area high schools.

FORNEY, Texas — Terrell High School (4-1, 2-0) and Forney High School (5-0, 2-0) continue to climb the Dallas Morning News’ Class 5A rankings for area high schools.

With a 21-14 win over Rockwall-Heath last Friday, Terrell moves into No.14 on the Top 20 list of Class 5A schools in the area.

Forney bumped up two spots on the list from last week’s No. 20 showing to No. 18 with their 58-13 win over South Garland last Thursday.

Fellow District 12-5A contender Mesquite Poteet (3-2, 2-0) is also listed, coming in at No. 12.

Forney, Terrell, and Mesquite Poteet are tied for 1st place in District 12-5A with 2-0 district records. Moving down the rankings are Royse City (3-2, 1-1), West Mesquite (3-2, 1-1), Rockwall-Heath (2-3, 0-2), North Forney (1-4, 0-2), and South Garland (0-5, 0-2).

The district will surely see some shake-ups with Forney and Mesquite Poteet facing-off at Mesquite’s newly renovated Memorial Stadium on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. The same night, Terrell and West Mesquite will play at Terrell’s Memorial Stadium.
