TERRELL, Texas — Terrell High School (1-0, 3-1) stacked up a big homecoming win over North Forney High School (0-1, 1-3) on Friday night, 46-7, in their district opener.

TERRELL, Texas — Terrell High School (1-0, 3-1) stacked up a big homecoming win over North Forney High School (0-1, 1-3) on Friday night, 46-7, in their district opener.

Terrell took 21-0 lead in the 1st quarter off the heels of Dawonya Tucker and Elijah McQueen. Tucker had two back-to-back 20-plus yard rushing touchdowns followed by a late 1st quarter 36-yard McQueen touchdown.

In the first possession of the 2nd quarter, North Forney’s Jermaine Gardner finished out a North Forney 5-minute, 15-play drive with a 1-yard scamper into the end zone for the Falcons’ lone touchdown.

Terrell would go on to amass 349 yards to North Forney’s 121. Terrell’s Klayton Henderson threw for 50 yards on eight attempts and two touchdowns — connecting with Justin Sara on both. Tucker rushed for 194 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns followed by McQueen with 70 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns.

Leading the Falcons’ offense was Gardner who rushed for 59 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. Gardner also caught two passes for five yards. Sophomore quarterback Colby Suits threw for 71 yards, completing 12 of 25 attempts and an interception. Khari Dickinson led the receptions with 23 yards on four.

North Forney will next play at home against Royse City High School on Friday, September 25, 2015. Terrell will face Rockwall-Heath at Rockwall's Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.
