FORNEY, Texas — Terrell High School’s Dawonya Tucker and North Forney High School’s Khari Dickinson made appearances on the Dallas Morning News’ Week 9 Top Performers list.
Of a list of 17 Dallas-Fort Worth area rushing performers, Terrell’s Tucker topped the list with 390 yards and three touchdowns in Terrell’s matchup against Royse City on Friday night in which they won 32-7. On 38 carries, Tucker averaged 10.26 yards per carry.
Despite losing to West Mesquite, 47-12, on Saturday, after a delayed game on Friday night, North Forney’s Dickinson placed third in the list of top receivers and caught four passes for 165 yards — averaging 41.3 yards per reception — and two touchdowns. In addition to the reception yards, Dickinson rushed for another 36 yards on seven carries.
Terrell (5-0, 7-1) is tied for 1st place in District 12-5A with Mesquite Poteet (5-0, 6-2). The pair will face-off in what will likely be a district championship matchup in Week 11 after facing opponents South Garland (0-5, 0-8) and North Forney (1-4, 2-6), respectively, in Week 10.
