TERRELL, Texas — Terrell High School’s senior defensive end Dylon Wieland was named Dallas Morning News’ Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Forney High School on Friday night. Forney’s Slatinsky made the notable mention list.
Wieland completed eight tackles, two sacks, broke up two passes, returned an interception for an 86-yard touchdown, and recovered a fumble which led to a touchdown in Terrell’s 42-27 victory over Forney on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Terrell’s win pushed them to 5-2 overall for the 2014 season and 2-2 in District 12-5A — the same as Forney and also forcing a four-way tie with West Mesquite and Royse City for third place in District 12-5A.
Forney’s Chazz Slatinsky, in the same game, was a notable mention for his 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
