COLLEGE STATION, Texas β North Forney alumni Armani Watts caught his second interception of the season for the Texas A&M University Aggies (6-3, 2-3) in their 21-16 win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Kyle Field.
Watts, a true freshman starter, now leads the Aggies in interceptions for the 2014 season. Watts also completed five total tackles, three solo, and one breakup.
About an hour before the game, the Aggies announced a two-game suspension for starting quarterback Kenny Hill for violating team rules and athletic department policies. Freshman Kyle Allen started in place of Hill for his first start of the season for the Aggies. Allen threw for 106 yards and a touchdown.
The Aggies led at halftime, 21-10 but were unable to muster any second half points to the Warhawksβ two field goals for six. The Aggies clung onto the lead for a 21-16 win.
The Aggies will play the Auburn University Tigers on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, at 2:30 p.m. CST.
