MESQUITE, Texas – The Forney High School Lady Jackrabbits swept the West Mesquite High School Lady Wranglers in their first District 12-5A matchup on Friday night, September 12, 2014, in Mesquite, Texas.
Forney High School senior Kristin Silva had an impressive defensive showing in the three game sweep of West Mesquite – accumulating 21 digs on the night. Forney beat West Mesquite 25-19, 25-16, and 25-13.
Other team leaders for Forney High School include freshman Allie Hamsher with five kills, four digs, and two aces; freshman Desiree Johnson with nine kills and two digs; and senior Mckenzie Black with six digs, two kills, and one ace.
Hamsher and Sam Gardner had 12 and 14 assists on the night, respectively.
Forney travels to Mesquite, Texas, tomorrow for a Tuesday night matchup against Poteet High School at 6:30 p.m.
