The Lady Falcons won the first game on their home court in the best-of-five series against the Trojans, 25-10. Then the Falcons gave up the lead in the second game and lost by two points, 25-23. The Lady Falcons rallied back in the last two games and won both, 25-15 and 25-19.
“Great win tonight lots of positive plays by everyone,” said North Forney Volleyball Head Coach Ray Kramer. “I’m proud of the way each player stepped up and made a difference when they were on the floor.”
Player highlights from the match include: Peyton Hedrick with 17 kills, 16 digs, and 1 ace; Breana Powell with 22 digs and 2 aces; and Marilyn Rizzato with 16 digs, 8 kills, and 2 aces.
The win over Newman Smith (4-7) solidified North Forney (5-6) as fifth in District 10-4A and only a game down for fourth place held by Mesquite Poteet (6-5). North Forney will play Terrell (0-11) on Tuesday night, October 22, 2013, at Terrell High School.
