The story behind Ralls ISD Jackrabbits fundraising efforts for Forney tornado victims
Though the EF-3 tornado that tore through Forney happened over two months ago, a generous school district nearly 400 miles away from Forney recently sent a monetary donation to help local tornado victims. Ralls ISD, from Ralls, Texas near Lubbock, sent a check for $721.01 to Forney ISD Superintendent Michael Holland with a letter explaining how they raised the funds.

Forney ISD School Board meeting: New members sworn in and President elected
There were a lot of smiles at the June 4, 2012 Forney ISD School Board meeting. It was a night to celebrate the swearing in of new school board members Mike White and Heath Carroll and to recognize some of the districts outstanding athletes. The board also voted on who their President, Vice President and Secretary would be for the 2012-2013 school year.

Forney High School Students Accepted into NASA High School Aerospace Scholars Program
HOUSTON, Texas – Several Forney High School students were recently notified that they had been selected to the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars Program. Three of the students completed the program and one was selected to attend a six-day NASA Johnson Space Center residency program.

Forney's Crosby Elementary School is the scene of hope at ceremonial tree planting
Nothing beautifies a community like trees. On Thursday, May 10, 2012, the Kaufman County Urban Forester teamed up with Texas Trees Foundation, TXU Energy, and UNFI, to plant a ceremonial tree at Crosby Elementary School in Forney. The Chinquapin oak tree was planted on campus, not far from a small tree that somehow survived the EF-3 tornado that destroyed homes in the Diamond Creek neighborhood. Many more trees are going to be planted in October.
