Coming into the contest with a 1-1 record on the young season, this matchup would be the best indicator yet of the Jackrabbits' chance for a successful 2012 campaign on the gridiron. Corsicana was a 2011 State Semi-Finalist and has a rich history of football success in the 4A ranks.

FYBA Challenger League opens Fall ball with a perfect pitch from Rollie Fingers
Saturday, September 8, was a picture perfect day to open the Forney Youth Baseball Association's Challenger League Fall season at Mulberry Park. The league for special needs children is only in its third season, but already the number of kids participating has grown from 13 to over 30. This special league caught the attention of Laurel Cline, the daughter of Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers. Cline lives in Forney with her family, and asked her dad to stop by and throw out the first pitch on opening day.

The Forney Jackrabbits and North Forney Falcons will both field their varsity football teams on Friday, August 31, 2012, and officially kick-off a new season. Both teams got a glimpse of unfamiliar faces last Friday during their scrimmage matches. The Forney Jackrabbits scrimmaged against Wylie East at City Bank Stadium and the North Forney Falcons scrimmaged against Little Elm at the Little Elm Athletic Complex.
