Forney Food Fest helps FHS Lady Jackrabbit's Soccer raise much needed funds
The very first Forney Food Fest was held on Saturday, October 20 at the City Bank Texas parking lot. The event was a fundraiser put together by the Forney High School Lady Jackrabbit's Soccer booster club. The fundraiser brought together eight food trucks to serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to long lines of hungry Forney residents.

The Forney Jackrabbit offense was true to its namesake and got moving almost from the opening gun of their football game against Creekview. Big plays were the name of the game for both sides and Forney prevailed 44-21 over the Creekview Mustangs at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton.

Forney entrepreneurs kicking off Unity Bowl tradition
Three Forney entrepreneurs kick off a tradition for Forney’s Unity Bowl football game between the Forney High School Jackrabbits and North Forney High School Falcons. The Unity Bowl, as it has been dubbed by the Forney Independent School District, will be played on October 26, 2012 at City Bank Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The tradition they have planned is a massive tailgate party before the game that will be awarded to one lucky drawing winner and 25 of their closest friends.

The North Forney Falcons took a huge hit on Thursday night, October 4, 2012, facing off against the Highland Park Scots. The Falcons were coming off of win against the Terrell Tigers when they beat them last week during the Tiger's homecoming. The Scots were coming off of their defeat of the Forney Jackrabbits on a similar margin, 42 to 7.

The Forney Jackrabbits walk the plank against the Poteet Pirates
The Poteet Pirates came to City Bank Stadium on Friday night to play the Forney Jackrabbits in what many in Forney have considered for several years their "rivalry" game. That will change in a couple of weeks when North Forney and Forney meet for the first time in the Unity Bowl, however, this game was still pretty important for both teams. Poteet came in with a perfect 4-0 record while Forney was recovering from a lopsided loss to Highland Park that took their record to 1-3 on the season.

Highland Park Scots take early lead over the Jackrabbits and never look back
No football team expects to be down 7-0 in less than 15 seconds into a game. But, after their bye week, that is exactly where the Forney Jackrabbits found themselves in the District 10-4A opener against the Highland Park Scots at Highlander Stadium. After the pre-game rain had cleared from the North Dallas skies, the Jackrabbits started the game by kicking to Highland Park and watching the Scots' Hank Howard scamper, almost untouched, through the Jackrabbits return team for an opening touchdown of 97 yards.
